Terms of Service

These terms cover the SimpleDex apps for iPhone and Android, the SimpleDex web app at simpledex.cavender.dev, and this website. By using SimpleDex, you agree to them.

Unofficial fan app

SimpleDex is an unofficial fan app. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures, or The Pokémon Company.

Pokémon and Pokémon character names are trademarks of Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures, and The Pokémon Company. Pokémon names, artwork, and other Pokémon material in SimpleDex belong to their respective owners.

Pokémon data comes from PokeAPI, a free, community-run project.

Using SimpleDex

SimpleDex is free. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

• use SimpleDex, or the data and artwork it shows, for commercial purposes
• interfere with SimpleDex or the services it relies on, for example by sending automated requests to overload them

SimpleDex's source code is published on GitHub. Any rights to use or copy the code come from that repository's license, not from these terms.

App stores

If you downloaded SimpleDex from the App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply. For the iPhone app, that includes Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

No warranty

SimpleDex is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Its information may contain errors or be incomplete, and SimpleDex may change, be unavailable, or stop working at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Stephen Cavender isn't liable for any damages arising from using, or being unable to use, SimpleDex.

Links to other sites

SimpleDex links to other sites, such as PokeAPI and the developer's website. Their own terms apply there, and SimpleDex isn't responsible for their content.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what data SimpleDex handles.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
